Role overview
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states and countries using Remote
- Review and validate timekeeping data, including hours worked and PTO, ensuring accuracy before payroll runs
- Process payroll changes including new hires, compensation updates, terminations, bonuses, and adjustments
- Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.), including enrollments and life event changes
- Manage contractor lifecycle operations, including agreements (SOWs), onboarding, and invoice schedules
- Coordinate off boarding processes, including system updates, benefits terminations, and cross-functional alignment
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to payroll and benefits, and support internal documentation and process improvements
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience processing complex, multi-state US payrolls (Canadian payroll experience is a plus but not required).
- Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate or non-profit environment using HRIS platforms such as Workday or Kronos
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation
- Familiarity with multiple payroll software systems including ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro, or equivalent platforms
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex data entry tasks accurately using 10 key typing skills
- Understanding of benefits administration processes and tax regulations related to payroll processing
- Experience working with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
- Excellent analysis skills coupled with attention to detail; ability to interpret financial concepts effectively
